After taking Chicago’s premiere wine competition on the road to New York City’s iconic James Beard House, Somm Slam is returning to Beacon Tavern on Tuesday, March 6. This time, five Chicago sommeliers will battle against sommeliers from across the country, representing the illustrious hospitality communities of Beverly Hills, Miami, San Francisco, St. Louis and Texas. The evening will include a decadent five-course menu from Executive Chef Bob Broskey. Each course will be accompanied with two wine pairings served blind with guests determining which sommelier provides the best pairing per course and the overall wine of the evening. Tickets are $190, which include a five-course dinner with multiple wine pairings per course. The sommelier who selects the winning wine will be named Somm Slam V champion.
